It was the LaMichael James show in Tucson on Saturday night as the Oregon Ducks rolled to a 56-31 win over the Arizona Wildcats. The shifty Oregon back was part of a prolific rushing attack against the Wildcats, setting a school record for rushing yards in the win.
Oregon Vs. Arizona Final Score: LaMichael James Gashes Wildcats In 56-31 Win
It was all about the ground game for the Ducks as Chip Kelly almost abandoned the pass -- Darron Thomas threw for 101 yards and two touchdowns -- while playing to his team's biggest strength.. When the dust settled, James had 23 carries for 288 yards -- an average of 12.5 yards per carry -- and two touchdowns. James was one of three Ducks to rush for two touchdowns on the night, joining Kenjon Barner and quarterback Darron Thomas, who each took advantage of an Arizona defense that looked powerless to stop the run.
The Wildcats climbed back into the game in the third quarter, cutting the Oregon lead to 11 on a seven-yard touchdown from Nick Foles to David Roberts, before Oregon pulled away in the end. Arizona went to the pass early and often, with Foles throwing for 398 yards and three touchdowns. But it wasn't enough to overcome a defense that simply couldn't slow down the Ducks' high-powered attack from the start.
