Jordan Jefferson, Josh Johns Reinstated By LSU Football

On the same day LSU Tigers quarterback Jordan Jefferson had second-degree battery charges reduced to simple battery, LSU announced that Jefferson and teammate Josh Johns have been reinstated to the team, according to CBS Sports' Brett McMurphy. His colleague, Bryan D. Fischer, reports both players will immediately return to practice.

According to LSU’s official announcement, the reduced charges for Jefferson and no indictment for Johns made removing the suspension the course of action the university needed to take. The two had been suspended since Aug. 26.

What remains to be answered is what will happen at quarterback for the Tigers right now. Jarrett Lee has led the team to a 4-0 record in Jefferson's absence, but Jefferson was scheduled to be the starter before the August incident. While it's too late in the week for head coach Les Miles to make a change at quarterback, Lee's status as the starting quarterback is a question mark.
