Nebraska Vs. South Carolina, Capital One Bowl: Wild Start Sits At 9-6

A 9-6 score may not seem so crazy, but the way South Carolina and Nebraska got there in Monday’s Capital One Bowl is hardly normal. The two teams have traded touchdowns, but the difference is the Gamecocks’ blocking of a PAT and returning it for a safety.

The Cornhuskers got off to a blazing start forcing the Gamecocks into a punt on their first possession and getting the ball on South Carolina's 46. Three plays later, they were in the end zone courtesy of Taylor Martinez's 30-yard pass to Kenny Bell. But on the ensuing PAT, the Gamecocks blocked the kick and returned it for a safety.

South Carolina was able to carry that momentum into their next drive. Following a poor kick, the Gamecocks started on their own 47. Connor Shaw was able to finish off the drive by taking a 1-yard plunge into the end zone on fourth down.
