NFL Draft 2012: Riley Reiff Will Leave Iowa As Potential Top-10 Pick

The college ranks lose another top offensive lineman, with Iowa’s Riley Reiff joining Stanford’s Jonathan Martin in the 2012 NFL Draft.

Iowa Hawkeyes tackle Riley Reiff will leave for the NFL Draft, the potential top-10 selection told coach Kirk Ferentz Tuesday. He's the second stud tackle to announce this week, with Jonathan Martin of the Stanford Cardinal also contending for a single-digit pick.

In SBNation.com's newest 2012 mock draft, Reiff goes No. 12 to the Kansas City Chiefs:

Kyle Orton, Matt Cassel or a player to be named later, none of them would find ideal working conditions behind the Chiefs’ current offensive line. Reiff can play either tackle spot, and he will help Jamaal Charles in the run game.

Standing 6-foot-6 and weighing 300 pounds, he's the latest highly regarded Iowa player to have arrived with little fanfare. He was only rated a three-star recruit out of Parkston, SD, choosing the Hawkeyes over the Minnesota Golden Gophers and Nebraska Cornhuskers.
