Jared Williams Injury: SMU Running Back Carted Off With Broken Femur

The 2012 Compass Bowl between the SMU Mustangs and the Pittsburgh Panthers is over three-quarters finished, with the Mustangs in decisive control throughout much of the game.

The Mustangs were dealt a brutal blow in the second half, however, when running back Jared Williams suffered an extremely nasty-looking leg injury while being tackled by Andrew Taglianetti of Pittsburgh. The injury is being called a broken left femur and resulted in Williams being carted off the field with his leg in a cast. Players from both teams were visibly shaken up by the play, with Taglianetti in particular looking distraught.
