GoDaddy.com Bowl 2012, Arkansas State Vs. Northern Illinois: Time, TV Schedule, Odds And More

The GoDaddy.com bowl may not be a big time draw, but it looks to be one of the better games of the bowl season as Northern Illinois and Arkansas State clash.

Despite the fact that the GoDaddy.com Bowl is known as one of the "lesser" bowl games, it might turn out to be one of the most entertaining. The game features the Northern Illinois Huskies and the Arkansas State Red Wolves and both teams sport some of the better offenses in the country.

Northern Illinois is led by quarterback Chandler Harnish, who's had a great final season with the Huskies and been a catalyst in some of their big victories this season. On the season, Harnish passed for nearly 3,000 yards with 26 passing touchdowns and just five interceptions. Harnish also led the Huskies in rushing, picking up nearly 1,400 yards on the ground and 11 touchdown runs. The Huskies have the 10th highest scoring offense in the country, averaging 40 points per game. Northern Illinois does give up over 30 points per game, but thanks in part to Harnish they've been able to outscore their competition.

Arkansas State on the other hand does play defense, giving up just under 20 points per game. Their offense under Ryan Aplin more than scores enough points, however. Aplin has passed for nearly 3,000 yards this season and added another 605 rushing yards, including 27 total touchdowns on the season. Aplin, the Sun Belt player of the year, leans on wide receiver Dwayne Frampton who the Huskies will need to focus on covering. On the season, Frampton has picked up a school record 1,125 yards receiving. The Red Wolves will also be looking for a big game from Brandon Joiner, who's racked up 12 sacks on the season.

Game date, time: 9:00 p.m. ET, Sunday, January 8

Location: Lad Peebles Stadium, Mobile, AL

TV channel: ESPN/ESPN3

Odds: Arkansas State favored by 1
