New Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach Greg Schiano, until recently a college man with the Rutgers Scarlet Knights, may be dipping back into the collegiate ranks for his offensive coordinator. As Schiano is a defensive coach by trade, this will likely be his most important hire. The target: John Shoop of the North Carolina Tar Heels, according to FOX Sports.

UNC offensive coordinator John Shoop could be headed back to the NFL.


Over his five years at UNC, Shoop's offenses ranked No. 73 in 2011, preceded by 51, 108, 92 and 105. So at least there was improvement! The Heels also helped turn the up-and-down T.J. Yates into a NFL playoff quarterback.
