Former Oklahoma Sooners linebacker Kellen Jones, who left OU weeks ago in search of more playing time, could follow former defensive coordinator Brent Venables to the Clemson Tigers. Tiger Illustrated quotes Jones as saying he "immediately sent" his release from OU to Clemson as soon as it was available. Jones has also reportedly visited the Purdue Boilermakers.
Kellen Jones Could Transfer To Clemson, Purdue
At Norman, he played in 12 games, recording 10 tackles as a freshman, ranking him sixth among all linebackers. He had a pair of special teams tackles in three different games. Hailing from Houston, Jones was ranked the No. 29 inside linebacker in the country by Rivals before committing to Michigan.
At the time, OU coach Bob Stoops said in a statement, “Kellen leaves the program in good standing, and we wish him the best.”
