Arrested Arkansas Football Players Re-Sold Stolen Textbooks

As soon as the word “textbooks” was spotted on the list of items allegedly stolen by the three Arkansas football players arrested on Saturday, everyone who’s attended college probably thought the same thing. You see, near the end of every semester, most college bookstores offer to buy back used textbooks. It’s done at a fraction of the cost of a new book, but selling back a textbook results in cash-in-hand.

Now we have confirmation this was allegedly what was going on at Arkansas. The players arrested were allegedly stealing books, then ... selling them back to the bookstore.

A clerk in the Campus Bookstore later identified Peterson, Humphrey and Wade as having been in the store “multiple times” selling textbooks. Textbooks and other stolen property also were recovered from Peterson’s suite in the Northwest Quads.

This is just ... I don’t even. It’s one thing to steal things from dorms. It’s another to sell back a bunch of stolen books to the university. Is it not suspicious when the same guys keep coming in to sell books repeatedly?
