Former Auburn football players Ed Christian and Ladarious Phillips were shot and killed Saturday during a pool party at an Auburn area apartment complex, according to multiple reports. Current player Eric Mack was reportedly hospitalized with a gunshot wound.

The Auburn Plainsman, Auburn University’s student newspaper, reports that Christian and Phillips were killed based on claims from “social media notifications.” Charles Goldberg of AL.com reports the same, citing “two people familiar with the incident,” which occurred at the University Heights apartment complex near campus. The Auburn police department has not yet released any names of the victims but has called a press conference for noon ET.
An Associated Press report has an account from an eyewitness who says a fight broke out at the pool party over a woman. A Twitter account associated with Eric Mack tweeted about “two lost homies” early Sunday morning.

This is the second shooting in less than two months at the apartment complex. In April, a suspect was arrested for shooting at police officers who were attempting to execute a search warrant.
