The jury in the Jerry Sandusky trial has finished hearing arguments, but they will not reach a verdict on their first evening of discussions. The news from Ben Jones of StateCollege.com:

It’s probably best not to read much into this: In any scenario where there are 48 charges on the table, it would be almost impossible for a jury to come to a decision in only a few hours, regardless of how overwhelming the burden of evidence was in one direction or the other. At this point, all anybody that isn’t in the jury room can do is wait for a decision.
