With the jury finding Jerry Sandusky guilty on 45 of 48 counts of child sexual abuse, the attention now turns to what’s next for the former Penn State coach.
Jerry Sandusky Faces Up To 442 Years Following Guilty Verdict
Sandusky was found guilty of 25 felonies and 14 first-degree felonies. He could be facing 442 years in prison if he were to receive the maximum sentence. Following the jury’s announcement, Sandusky’s bail was revoked and he was immediately taken into custody.
Sandusky is expected to be sentenced within 90 days. His defense attorney Karl Rominger expects to appeal, saying, “We have a lot of appellate issues to explore.”
While he may not receive a maximum sentence of 442 years, because Sandusky is 68 years old, a sentence of any length could effectively serve as a life sentence.
