Signee Dante Phillips Won’t Play For Florida Football After All

Among those three Florida defensive linemen whose freshmen years were in peril due to academics, two -- Dante Fowler and Jonathan Bullard -- are probably going to be cleared to enroll and play soon. But the third, Dante Phillips, is already making plans to play his college ball elsewhere, ideally in the SEC, he tells Robbie Andreu.

The 6’6, 270-pound Phillips was rated a four-star defensive tackle by Rivals, the ninth-best at his position and the 24th-best overall in the state of Florida. So, yep, you can bet somebody else in the SEC would like to give him a shot. There’s also the ACC, though Miami’s not really any easier of a school:
