USC DE Devon Kennard Injured While Weightlifting, According To Report
USC defensive end Devon Kennard may miss the season after suffering a pectoral injury.

The injury will reportedly require surgery and could cause Kennard to miss the entire 2012 season. Citing a source close to the player, Moura’s report said Kennard will undergo surgery next week and is expected to miss at least 2-3 months.
He was expected to start at defensive end for the Trojans this season. Kennard started five games at defensive end last season, racking up 29 tackles and two sacks. He moved to defensive end as a junior after he started eight games at middle linebacker his sophomore season. Kennard has battled injury issues throughout his USC career, including thumb and hip injuries.
He’s started 18 games in his time with the Trojans, posting 135 tackles and four sacks. If he is unable to play in 2012, he could redshirt and return in 2013.
