Ash will enter fall camp in a quarterback competition with Case McCoy. While Ash is considered to be the favorite, it is still unknown how or if the injury will impact his participation in fall camp. While a strain is certainly better than a tear or another significant injury, hamstring issues can linger for weeks.
Texas opens its season on Sept. 1 against Wyoming.
