Greg Reid Transferring to Valdosta State, According To Source

Not even one day after being kicked off the Florida St. Seminoles football team, cornerback Greg Reid has reportedly found a new home.

A source tells 680 The Fan’s Brandon Leak that Reid will transfer to Valdosta State, a Division II school located in southern Georgia. He has one year of eligibility remaining.

Reid, who is from Valdosta, had faced a string of run-ins with the law while at FSU, “violating team rules” a number of times.

His latest run-in came three weeks ago, when he was charged with possession of marijuana by a Georgia state trooper. He was also charged with resisting arrest and perjury in an incident last fall.

One of college football’s most gifted all-around players, Reid had 27 tackles and two interceptions last season, while also accruing 563 total punt and kickoff return yards, bringing one punt back for a touchdown.

While the loss of a such a versatile player will hurt Florida State, Reid will reportedly seek a fresh start at Valdosta State this coming season and keep his hopes alive for the 2013 NFL draft.
