Notre Dame Cornerback Lo Wood Suffers Season-Ending Achilles Injury
Notre Dame cornerback Lo Wood injured his Achilles on Monday and will miss the 2012 season.

Wood, who was expected to start this season for the Irish, will have surgery later this week. The junior cornerback was injured during practice.
During his first two seasons in South Bend, Wood appeared in 21 games, totaling 10 tackles and intercepting one pass. His lone interception came in a 45-21 win over Maryland last season. Wood returned the interception 57 yards for a touchdown.
The loss of Wood could be a major blow for the Irish, who were already thin at cornerback. Without Wood, Notre Dame is left with just two scholarship players who were recruited as cornerbacks out of high school.
