Despite tearing his ACL this April in non-contact drills, Colorado Buffaloes star playmaker Paul Richardson believes there's a possibility he could only miss the first two games of the season, according to Kyle Ringo of Buffzone.com.
Paul Richardson Could Miss As Few As Two Colorado Games
Richardson has set a Sept. 22 goal as his return date from ACL surgery in mid-April.
Richardson, who has reportedly made excellent progress since coaches thought he might be lost for the season, has had his sights set on playing in the Sept. 22 Washington State game all along. The junior pass catcher has been using this date as motivation because he still feels the need to redeem himself after fumbling in the second half in last season’s contest against the Cougars.
“There is definitely a chip on my shoulder,” he said this summer. “I kind of take the blame for that game.”
Richardson still hasn’t played a full season as a starter in either of his first two year’s of his collegiate campaign. In nine games last season, Richardson caught 39 passes for 555 yards and five touchdowns while playing though numerous nagging injuries.
