Head coach Steve Sarkisian has to feel good coming into the season. Washington is coming off consecutive bowl bids and has expectations to be back in the postseason. The Huskies aren’t expected to be a Pac-12 championship contender, but could challenge to be the third-best team behind Southern California and Oregon.
Quarterback Keith Price is now entering his second full season as a starter. Price was sensational in 2011, throwing for 33 touchdowns against just 11 interceptions. He also threw for some nice yardage with 3,063 to his credit.
As for the Aztecs, they’ll provide a formidable opponent right away. Under second-year head coach Rocky Long, San Diego State is also a team on the rise. The Aztecs have been in back-to-back bowls for the first time in school history.
Ryan Katz has the assignment of starting quarterback, taking over for the highly talented Ryan Lindsey who was taken by the Arizona Cardinals in the 2012 NFL Draft.
