With an 0-11 record all-time against the West Virginia Mountaineers, the Marshall Thundering Herd are expected to make it 0-12 as they enter a Saturday matchup as heavy underdogs. The No. 11 Mountaineers, led by Heisman hopeful, quarterback Geno Smith haven't had much difficulty scoring points in recent years.
Marshall Vs. West Virginia Game Time, TV Schedule, Spread And More
Geno Smith’s Heisman campaign begins Saturday against the Marshall Thundering Herd who have never won a game against the Mountaineers.

In fact, the 70 points posted by Smith and West Virginia in a 2012 Orange Bowl victory over the Clemson Tigers broke a record for scoring in a bowl game and Smith's six touchdowns tied a 28-year old record for passing in a bowl game. Now the Mountaineers enter the 2012 season as hopefuls for a BCS National Championship, while Rakeem Cato and the Thundering Herd would like to get their feet under them to start the season.
Cato, a true sophomore, made his collegiate debut against West Virginia in 2011 and did relatively well, despite his team’s 34-13 loss. His 15-for-21 passing performance with no interceptions was enough to inspire hope for the future, but if Cato hopes to battle with Smith’s prolific offense he’ll need to contribute much more with a season under his belt.
Game time, TV channel: 12 p.m. ET, FX
Point spread: West Virginia favored by 21.5
