The Oklahoma Sooners announced a 10-year partnership with Fox Sports on Thursday morning, which gives the broadcast company the right to air live games as well as original content in a Sooner Sports TV programming package. The deal also extends beyond football, and includes broadcasts of additional content such as men’s and women’s basketball, baseball, Olympic sports, softball, and head coach Bob Stoops’ weekly television show.
TCU also announced that they’d come to a multi-year agreement to have Fox to broadcast Horned Frog athletic events:
The agreement features a comprehensive schedule of TCU athletics events to be televised annually, including one Horned Frog football game, all available men’s basketball games and mutually agreed upon Olympic sports, including women’s basketball, baseball, soccer and volleyball contests. The Horned Frogs’ Sept. 8 home opener against Grambling State on FOX Sports Southwest officially kicked off the partnership.
And Texas Tech has agreed to sell it’s third-tier media rights to Fox, via Double-T Nation:
Terms of the agreement call for one football game to be televised annually on a FOX Sports Networks’ platform, which could include FOX Sports Southwest, FOX Sports Southwest Plus or FOX College Sports. The Red Raiders’ Sept. 1 home opener against Northwestern State on FOX Sports Southwest Plus officially kicked off the partnership. FOX Sports Networks platforms will also televise all available men’s basketball games, up to 20 Olympic sports, and additional Texas Tech non-game programming mutually selected by FOX Sports and Texas Tech.
Oklahoma State is awaiting finalization of a deal which could be similar in nature to the Texas Tech deal.
