The Maryland Terrapins offense looked utterly inept in their season opener against William & Mary, needing a fourth-quarter touchdown to pull themselves out of a hole and earn a 7-6 victory. While a 36-27 victory over Temple provided a little more confidence in the team, the oddsmakers are not impressed with Maryland.

Instead the favored team for Saturday's game is Randy Edsall's former team, the Connecticut Huskies, by a slim margin. In the first game between the two teams since Edsall left UConn of the Big East for Maryland of the ACC, the Huskies will look to bounce back from a 10-7 loss to N.C. State in their second game of the season.
Despite the loss, the Huskies have allowed just 10 points all season after shutting out Massachusetts in the week prior. They are ranked No. 9 in the FBS in passing yards allowed and No. 1 in rushing yards allowed, at only 28.5 per game.
Maryland will have to further prove their ability to score points against a team that has so far proved it can deny them.
Game time, TV channel: 12:30 p.m. ET, SNY
Point spread: Connecticut favored by 2.5 points
