No. 16 TCU opened its season with a 56-0 win against Grambling State last Saturday, but will now face a much tougher test when they go on the road to face Kansas. The Jayhawks are coming off a 25-24 loss to Rice but are 1-1 on the season.
TCU racked up 531 yards against Grambling State, including 255 rushing yards. The Horned Frogs used two quarterbacks in their season opener and Trevone Boykin and Casey Pachall combined to complete all 17 pass attempts.
Kansas' passing game has struggled, with Dayne Crist completing just 51.6 percent of his passes through two games, but the Jayhawks have excelled running the ball. Tony Pierson and Taylor Cox have each gotten off to strong starts, combining for 444 yards through two games. Pierson surpassed the 100-yard mark in both games while Cox has 200 rushing yards on 31 carries.
Saturday’s game will be the 29th meeting between the two schools and the first since 1997. TCU holds a 16-8-4 advantage in the series.
