Auburn opened SEC play last week with a 28-10 loss at Mississippi State. That loss followed their 26-19 season opening loss to Clemson. They might get a tougher than expected test from Louisiana-Monroe, who knocked off Arkansas last week. If Auburn is going to avoid a 0-3 start, they will will need to be better offensively. The Tigers are averaging just 14.5 points in 2012, the 109th lowest average among FBS teams. The defense hasn’t been much better as the 27.0 PPG allowed is 80th in the country.
After upsetting No. 8 Arkansas 34-31 last Saturday, the Warhawks will look for their second straight upset victory against an SEC opponent. Kolton Browning leads the way offensively for Louisiana Monroe. He racked up 481 yards and four total touchdowns against Arkansas. The junior quarterback completed 42-of-67 passes for 412 yards while also rushing for 69 yards, including the game-winning touchdown.
Auburn has not started a season 0-3 since 1950.
