Penn State Vs. Navy Game Time, TV Schedule, Spread And More

The Penn State Nittany Lions, still looking for thier first win of the 2012 season, will host Navy on Saturday.

Penn State lost 17-16 to Virginia last week, this after the Nittany Lions lost 24-14 to Ohio to open their season. Penn State had a good chance to beat Virginia, but Sam Ficken missed a 42-yard field goal as time expired. It was one of four missed field goals for Ficken in the game. Scoring points has been a challenge for Penn State this season as its15.0 PPG average is ranked 107th among FBS schools. Penn State has also struggled to run the ball, averaging just 3.3 yards per attempt, but its 234.5 passing yards per game are 64th best in the country.

Navy returns to action after an early season bye week last week. The Midshipmen lost their first game of the season, 50-10 to Notre Dame in a game played in Dublin, Ireland. As usual, Navy will try to run the ball offensively, although they did attempt 20 passes against Notre Dame. Navy attempted just 135 passes in 12 games last season while rushing nearly 58 times per game.

Saturday’s game will be the first meeting between the two schools since 1974. Penn State leads the all-time series 18-17-2.
