Alabama Vs. Arkansas Final Score: Tide Flatten Razorbacks, 52-0

No. 1 Alabama laid a whupping on Arkansas in Fayetteville Saturday afternoon. The Razorbacks couldn’t afford a whole lot of mistakes playing without starting quarterback Tyler Wilson, and they goofed a bunch, early and often.

Alabama's first score came from recovering a muffed punt at the Arkansas 6-yard line; Eddie Lacy (11 carries, 55 yards) punched in the pigskin for his first of three scores on the day. Arkansas then drove 50 yards only to miss a field goal, and two Brandon Allen interceptions in the second quarter led to two Alabama touchdowns and a 24-0 halftime margin.

After Alabama drove 75 yards for a second half opening touchdown, Arkansas fumbled the ensuing kickoff. Tide kicker Cade Foster made the recovery, and T.J. Yeldon finished off the two play, 27-yard drive with a one-yard touchdown run to make it 38-0 three minutes into the third quarter.

The Crimson Tide outgained Arkansas 441-171, and made 27 first downs to the Razorbacks’ 12. The Alabama defense turned over Arkansas three times.

Box Score Hero: Alabama didn't need much from quarterback A.J. McCarron, but he turned in an extremely efficient performance, going 11 of 16 for 189 yards and a touchdown. Nine different Alabama receivers made catches off McCarron and Phillip Ely, who came in to finish the game.

Rankings Ramifications: Alabama should stay at no. 1, unless USC absolutely annihilates Stanford Saturday night in Palo Alto. Arkansas doesn’t look like a squad that’s returning to the Top 25 anytime soon.

But Did They Cover? Alabama was a 15½- to 21-point favorite pregame, so they covered several times over. Most books had the over-under set at 52.
