USC Vs. Hawaii: Marqise Lee Dominates In First Game Of Season

USC dominated Hawaii Saturday night and got a standout performance from wide receiver Marqise Lee. The Warriors had no answer for Lee who finished with 10 catches for 197 yards and a touchdown and also threw in a 100-yard kickoff return touchdown for good measure.

SB Nation’s USC blog Conquest Chronicles highlights Lee’s night including a quote from Lane Kiffin who says that Lee could be the best ever one day.

As if it were ever in doubt, Lee's talent was displayed on the first snap of the game in a 75-yard scram to the end zone. He ended up with 10 grabs for 191 yards and a score. He and Matt Barkley had it going last night. But the sophomore showed his chops in the return game, taking a kickoff, which followed Hawaii's sole touchdown, 100 yards to make the game 42-7. After the game, coach Lane Kiffin commended his star, stating, "He'll be the best ever (one day)." With games like last night, it's hard to disagree with Kiff.

Lee is a 6-foot-1 sophomore who combines with quarterback Matt Barkley to give the Trojans a dynamic passing attack. As a freshman, Lee hauled in 73 passes for 1,143 yards and 11 touchdowns. His performance on Monday puts him in position to eclipse those numbers as a sophomore.
