The Alabama Crimson Tide will look to protect their No. 1 ranking this weekend against the Florida Atlantic Owls. The Tide are coming off an impressive 52-0 dismantling of Arkansas, while FAU fell to Georgia last week, 56-20.

For Alabama, this game will likely present coach Nick Saban with an opportunity to get some valuable playing time for some of his younger, second- and third-string players. We won't see anything other than a blowout victory for the Tide behind A.J. McCarron, T.J. Yeldon, Eddie Lacy and Co.

For the Owls, it's all about hanging in for as long as they can. The team had its moments against Georgia, although the final score might not have reflected that. FAU is led by quarterback Graham Wilbert, who is completing nearly 68 percent of his passes while throwing for 569 yards and four touchdowns.

Game time, TV channel: 5 p.m. ET, ESPN3 will stream the game live.

Point spread: Alabama opened as 51 point favorites.
