Kentucky Vs. Florida Final Score: Gators Blow Out Wildcats, 38-0

The Florida Gators defeated the Kentucky Wildcats in a 38-0 blowout on Saturday. Florida was efficient in all phases of the game, with sophomore quarterback Jeff Driskel leading the offense and the Gator defense suffocating Morgan Newton and the Wildcats.

Florida led by just a field goal after the first quarter, but a 21-point second period opened things up for the Gators. A 10-play touchdown drive capped with six consecutive runs for Mike Gillislee began a scoring spree for the Gators.

Jaylen Hawkins ran back a Newton interception for a 26-yard touchdown to give Florida a 17-0 lead. Later in the quarter, Driskel hooked up with Quinton Dunbar for a 19-yard touchdown pass before the half.

Most of the third quarter was quiet offensively, before Driskel ran for his first rushing score of the season. Jacoby Brissett scored the final touchdown for the Gators.

Box Score Hero: Driskel finished the game completing 18 of his 27 pass attempts for 204 yards and a touchdown.

Rankings Ramifications: With the impressive play of sophomore quarterback Jeff Driskel and the way Florida’s defense undressed Kentucky in the second quarter, Florida’s ranking could go up. The Gators were expected to blow the Wildcats out.

But Did They Cover? The Gators covered the spread in the first half when they took a 24-0 lead into the break. All the rest was just extra.
