Florida State Vs. Clemson 2012 Highlights Video: Touchdowns Galore

EJ Manuel helped put Florida State ahead with a big connection to Rodney Smith, Florida State managed a huge interception of Boyd that set up another quick score, and then Chris Thompson (who had a big run to set up an early Seminole touchdown) punched it in with a huge rush to put the Seminoles in control.

Manuel threw for 380 yards on 27-of-35 passing and tossed two third-quarter touchdowns, the second a 29-yard strike to Rodney Smith which put the Seminoles up 35-31, a lead they would not relinquish.
Watkins did throw a touchdown on a fake screen, a 52-yard score to Ellington which gave Clemson a 28-14 lead with 11:48 to go in the third quarter. But Florida State came storming back, scoring five touchdowns over the next 16 minutes.

Florida State led Clemson by the final 49-37 margin in the waning moments of its statement win on Saturday night. Then the ‘Noles missed a snap count, allowing karma to rudely remind them to stay humble.
One suspects that Stork jamming the ball into Manuel’s stomach, perhaps protesting how the play failed, will not be quite as amusing for Clemson fans.

Clemson’s offense is pretty fun to watch. Its fake field goals are apparently pretty fun to watch, too! On this one, the holder faked a pitch before shoveling to Darrell Smith, who banged his way across the line for the first down. OR DID HE? There is, as you might expect, some controversy. Here’s the best look at how far he got:
Really not easy at all to see how he crossed the line. The refs were satisfied they got the call right, granting the Tigers the ball and the chance to score their second touchdown. This could be a call we end up remembering.

Florida State’s highly touted defense has now played its first drive of the season against a legitimate opponent. It has also given up a highlight reel touchdown. Clemson’s “Nuke” Hopkins blazed past many a Nole, bringing in a beautiful 60-yard shot from Tajh Boyd:
