Kansas State Vs. Miami Final Score: Collin Klein, Wildcats Rout Hurricanes, 52-13

The Kansas State Wildcats defeated the Miami Hurricanes in a laugher, 52-13, on Saturday afternoon in Manhattan, Kan., behind a 21-point fourth quarter from the Wildcats, which blew the game completely open.

Miami was never really in this one, as Kansas State quarterback Collin Klein and running back John Hubert proved much too explosive for the Hurricanes' defense to handle. Meanwhile, Miami quarterback Stephen Morris had a pretty good day, as he completed 19 of 25 passes for 214 yards, but he and the Hurricanes were unable to capitalize on several opportunities in the red zone.

Kansas State's defense clearly didn't mind letting Morris try to beat them, as they concentrated their efforts on shutting down Miami's running game. It was a successful strategy, as the Hurricanes rushed for just 43 yards on 29 attempts. Meanwhile, the Wildcats' running game looked to be in top form as, in addition to Klein's big day, Hubert ran for 107 yards and a touchdown, while backup quarterback Daniel Sams rushed three times for 47 yards and two scores.

Box Score Hero: Has to go to Klein, who threw for 210 yards and a touchdown, while also rushing for 64 yards and three additional scores.

Rankings Ramifications: As of the time Kansas State’s game was finished, nobody ahead of them had lost, nor were any of the teams in a position to lose. However, several other teams play later on Saturday, and even a mediocre performance in a win could see one drop below the Wildcats, who were thoroughly impressive against Miami.

But Did They Cover? Kansas State covered the 7-point spread five times over. The over/under of 58 was eclipsed, as well.

Next Week’s Schedule: Kansas State: Sept. 15 vs. North Texas. Miami: Sept. 15 vs. Bethune-Cookman.
