Joseph Randle leaving Oklahoma State for 2013 NFL Draft

The junior running back for the Cowboys stated Thursday morning that he is NFL Draft-bound.

Oklahoma State Cowboys junior running back Joseph Randle is forgoing his senior season at the school and will enter the 2013 NFL Draft, according to a report from Gina Mizell of The Oklahoman on Thursday.

Mizell reports that Randle informed the newspaper via a direct message on Twitter of his intentions, where he said he had “made my decision not to come back.”

In 2012, Randle gained 1,417 yards on the ground -- the 19th-highest total in Division I-A -- and scored 14 touchdowns for the Cowboys, who finished the season 8-5 overall (5-4 in the Big 12). Randle also caught 28 passes for 224 yards on the season.

Randle rushed for more than 100 yards in eight games this season, scoring multiple touchdowns in five games, including a four-rushing touchdown performance in a 51-48 overtime loss to the Oklahoma Sooners on Nov. 24, where he also racked up 113 yards on the ground.

SB Nation’s Mocking the Draft has Randle as its 11th-rated running back in the upcoming draft. ESPN’s NFL draft guru Mel Kiper has Randle as the fifth-best running back on the board in the junior class for the 2013 draft.
