Austin Seferian-Jenkins started the season as the No. 1 tight end, and it was nearly a consensus. The 6-foot-6-inch, 275-pound tight end was getting lofty comparisons to players like Rob Gronkowski due to his size and speed, not to mention his uncanny ability to get body position.

So far in 2013, Seferian-Jenkins has left quite a bit to be desired, and he's dropped in our rankings as a result. Both Jace Amaro of Texas Tech and Eric Ebron of North Carolina have made a more consistent impact in 2013, especially in the passing game. Amaro is not only looking like the top tight end in the class but probably a top 20 players overall as well.
Farther down the list, players like Marcel Jensen, Jacob Pedersen, Rob Branchflower and Chris Coyle have intriguing potential and at the very least could be depth players in the NFL.
