2014 NFL Draft order: Picks 1-20 set

The first 20 picks are decided and plenty of the teams in the top 10 need quarterbacks.

The first 10 picks of the draft are loaded with teams needing quarterbacks. It wouldn’t be a surprise if eight of the teams in the top 10 add new starting quarterbacks this offseason.

Obviously that starts with the Houston Texans, owners of the No. 1 pick. But the St. Louis Rams, who have the No. 2 pick, could draft a new quarterback if there are doubts about Sam Bradford. The Rams got that pick from the Washington Redskins as part of the Robert Griffin III trade in 2012.

If the Rams stick with Bradford, who is under contract two more seasons, their pick could be on the market. With so many teams needing quarterbacks, St. Louis could again get a big return for the second overall pick.

After losing seven consecutive games to end the season, the Browns are reportedly going to be hiring yet another new head coach. It’s almost a given the Browns are going to draft a quarterback with their first pick, No. 4 overall. Believe it or not, the Browns haven’t drafted a quarterback in the top five since Tim Couch was the first overall pick in 1999.

The Jacksonville Jaguars, the team picking in front of Cleveland, has never used a top five pick on a quarterback in franchise history. Will that change in 2014?

Oakland, Tampa Bay and Minnesota may also look to upgrade the quarterback position in next year’s draft.

The first 20 picks are set, and picks 21-32 are determined by playoff elimination. Reminder: The first tiebreaker is strength of schedule. The second is division record if teams are in the same division. The final tiebreaker is conferenceÂ record if teams are in the same conference.

Because of those tiebreaker scenarios, the Baltimore Ravens and Dallas Cowboys will flip a coin at the NFL Combine in February to determine the 16th and 17th picks in the draft.
