2013 NFL Combine: Prop bets for player drills

Going through gambling withdrawal after the Super Bowl? Don’t worry, there are plenty of prop bets you can make on the 2013 NFL Combine.

US PRESSWIRE

If you think there aren’t any football bets to make just because it is the offseason, you are sadly mistaken. The next opportunity for making bets after the Super Bowl comes along with the NFL Combine. Several gambling services offer bets based on the various drills players run through, with the 40-yard dash as the drill with the most bets available.

Joe Fortenbaugh of National Football Post has taken a look around the sportsbooks and put together some of the best prop bets from BetOnline.com and Sportsbook.ag. There are bets on individual prospects as well as general bets about the drills.

The over/under for the best 40-yard dash time has been set at 4.30 seconds. Some sites also offer times for individual athletes. The time for both West Virginia quarterback Geno Smith and Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te’o is set at 4.77 seconds. If you are looking to bet on Rich Eisen’s time in his yearly 40-yard dash, it is between 6.0 and 6.1 seconds depending on the site. Chris Johnson still holds the fastest 40 time in the history of the combine at 4.24 seconds (for the record, the betting odds of someone beating his record this year are +350, or 3.5 to 1).

The number for the most bench presses is set at 44 or 44.5 depending on the site. The number for the highest vertical jump is set at 43.5 inches and the best broad jump bet is at 11 feet, two inches.
