Day 1 of the 2013 NFL Scouting Combine is in the books, which means ... we’re still a couple days away from seeing actual players participating in actual drills. The scene at Lucas Oil Stadium on Wednesday wasn’t anything spectacular, as the first groups of players simply arrived for registration, orientation, interviews and maybe even some medical exams.
NFL Combine 2013: Offensive linemen, tight ends arrive in Indianapolis
Day 1 of the NFL Scouting Combine is in the books. Some of the top players have begun arriving, but we’re still a couple days off from the skill drills.

The arrivals included Group 1, which consisted of special teams players and offensive linemen; Group 2, which consisted of more offensive linemen; and Group 3, which consisted of the tight end class.
There’s 333 participants at the combine this year, so there will be four days of players actually arriving in their respective groups. Each day of arrivals have their own four-day schedule, and the first day will always be one day ahead of the second day, and so on and so forth.
As for the Day 1 arrivals, there's some big names already in Indianapolis. For special teams players, it's mostly kickers and punters. One long snapper, Luke Ingram, is in town, so if that's your thing there he is. Kicker Dustin Hopkins, widely considered to be the best kicker of the draft, is also in town.
For the offensive line, you have plenty of the top guys like Luke Joeckel and Barrett Jones. For tight ends, you have the premier players like Zach Ertz and Tyler Eifert.
On Thursday, all of the Day 1 arrivals will be undergoing measurements, medical examinations and more interviews. This means that we’ll actually get some real, tangible information out of the combine, as the measurements always turn out to be a spectacle each year.
The Day 1 arrivals will finally take to drills and the weight room on Friday, and will have the bulk of their drills on Saturday before wrapping up their time in Indianapolis.
