Dee Milliner injury: Alabama CB will have shoulder surgery after NFL Combine

Alabama’s Dee Milliner, the top cornerback prospect in the 2013 NFL Draft, will undergo surgery to repair a torn labrum in his right shoulder following the NFL Combine.

Alabama cornerback Dee Milliner will undergo surgery to repair a torn labrum in his right shoulder after participating in the NFL Scouting Combine, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Milliner, thought to be the top cornerback prospect in the draft and a potential top-five pick overall, will still participate in all of the combine drills with the exception of the bench press.

Milliner suffered the injury during Alabama’s 2012 championship season, but was able to play through the pain and did not miss any gamest. Milliner is expected to recover before the NFL offseason truly gets under way. One of his representatives, Tony Fleming, said, “The doctors have informed us that he will be 100 percent and fully recovered in time for training camp in July.”

While the injury will not cause Milliner to miss the combine, the surgery will keep him from participating in Alabama’s Pro Day on March 13. In the latest mock draft from Dan Kadar at Mocking the Draft, he has Milliner going sixth overall to the Cleveland Browns.
