NFL Draft 2013: Keenan Allen to have Pro Day on April 9

California wide receiver Keenan Allen will run through the combine drill at his personal Pro Day on April 9.

Kelley L Cox-US PRESSWIRE

California wide receiver Keenan Allen was considered the top wide receiver prospect in the 2013 NFL Draft entering the offseason, but after missing the combine due to a sprained PCL, he has some ground to make up. Allen will hold his own Pro Day on April 9 in Greensboro, N.C., according to Adam Schefter.

Allen will need to show that his knee is healthy and display solid athleticism on his Pro Day to reclaim his spot as the top-ranked wide receiver prospect. Wide receivers Cordarrelle Patterson of Tennessee, Tavon Austin of West Virginia and DeAndre Hopkins of Clemson all had solid performances at the combine, improving their stock. When speaking to the media at the combine, Allen said he was disappointed a setback with his knee kept him from performing and that he was "looking forward to running a 4.4."

Allen said he was running 10-yard and 20-yard splits at the right pace to hit 4.4 in the 40-yard dash prior to tweaking his knee injury. In 2012, Allen caught 61 passes for 737 yards and six touchdowns in nine games before a torn PCL ended his season. The California Pro Day is scheduled for March 14, but it appears Allen will wait until April 9 to perform his drills.
