NFL Draft 2013: Eddie Lacy will hold workout April 11

Eddie Lacy will run drills, including the 40-yard dash, for scouts on April 11 after missing the NFL Combine and Alabama pro day with a hamstring injury.

Eddie Lacy is ready to perform for NFL Draft scouts, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com. Lacy will reportedly hold a workout in Tuscaloosa on April 11, during which he will be participate fully in drills, including the 40-yard dash.

Lacy was forced to sit out Alabama pro day on March 10 due to lingering tightness from a hamstring injury he suffered a week before the 2013 NFL Combine. He is expected to be one of the first running backs taken in the NFL Draft, though his inability to perform in front of scouts may have cooled his stock a bit. He is still ranked as SB Nation’s No. 1 running back in his draft class, putting him in contention for a first-round pick.

As the Crimson Tide's primary ball carrier last season, Lacy averaged 6.5 yards per carry on his way to 1,322 yards rushing and 17 touchdowns. He has arguably the best combination of size and speed of any running back outside of perhaps South Carolina's Marcus Lattimore, and Lacy has the benefit of not coming off a crippling knee injury. That said, the evolution of the pro game in recent years has made the running back a devalued commodity, and that could push Lacy to Day 2 of the draft.
