South Carolina running back Marcus Lattimore has visits scheduled with the St. Louis Rams and New England Patriots ahead of April's NFL Draft, according to Robert Klemko of USA Today Sports. Lattimore worked out for scouts at South Carolina's Pro Day, but he still has a ways to go before he is in game shape. The Gamecock star told Klemko that his likely goal is to be back midseason.

When Lattimore was healthy, he was among the best running backs in college football. During his freshman season at South Carolina, his only full season in college, Lattimore rushed for 1,197 yards and 17 touchdowns on 249 carries. Over the next two seasons, he combined to carry the ball 306 times for 1,480 yards and 21 scores.

Unfortunately, Lattimore’s sophomore and junior seasons were cut short by major injuries. The latest was particularly gruesome, but the running back has been working hard with Dr. James Andrews to recover.

Dr. Andrews has called Lattimore “superhuman” in his ability to heal. If he is able to come back at close to full strength, then some team will be getting a steal in the middle rounds of the draft.
