2013 NFL Draft team needs: Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles are headed in a new direction with Chip Kelly at the wheel.

It's been less than two seasons since Vince Young called the Philadelphia Eagles a dream team following an offseason of big moves, including the acquisition of Nnamdi Asomugha, Ronnie Brown, Steve Smith and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, among others. The moves, lauded at the time, have since set back the Eagles franchise, and the team will begin a rebuild of sorts under the direction of head coach Chip Kelly, following the firing of Andy Reid after 14 seasons with the team.

With Kelly, the former Oregon Ducks head coach, leading the way for the Eagles, the team promises to be one of the more intriguing NFL experiments moving forward. With his unique, up-tempo offense and a hybrid defense that he doesn't wish to categorize as a 3-4 or 4-3, the Eagles have a direction in mind, but many spots to fill before it is made a reality.

Top three needs

Cornerback - That whole “dream team” thing didn’t work out, and both Nnamdi and DRC are gone. Finding help for the secondary will be essential for the Eagles to avoid another rough season.

Quarterback - Michael Vick might end up being a great fit in Kelly's offense, but he's turning 33 in June and has just a one-year contract with the Eagles. Nick Foles wasn't terrible in his time as the starter; however, if the Eagles aren't convinced that he's a franchise player, finding a QB that is will be necessary.

Offensive line - The right side of the offensive line has a huge hole and the left side of the line is dependent upon 31-year-old Jason Peters recovering from an Achilles tear and returning to form. The Eagles gave up 48 sacks in 2012, the fifth-most in the NFL.

Ideal pick: Dee Milliner, CB, Alabama
