2013 NFL Draft team needs: Seattle Seahawks

The Seahawks are poised to be one of the top teams in the NFL in 2013, what should they look to add in the draft?

The Seattle Seahawks had a tremendous season in 2012, winning a playoff game and finding a franchise quarterback in rookie Russell Wilson. During the offseason they have been stockpiling talent and look to threaten the San Francisco 49ers position as the top dogs of the NFC West. General manager John Schneider and coach Pete Carroll have done well building from the draft in the past, particularly with their later picks.

Seattle traded away its first-round selection to acquire Percy Harvin, but can still fill some holes and add depth with later-round picks. In addition to trading for Harvin, the Seahawks signed defensive ends Cliff Avril and Michael Bennett in free agency to add some talent to their already impressive defensive unit.

Top three needs

Defensive tackle - While the Seahawks added two top-notch defensive linemen, they are both ends. They will use Bennett as a three-technique pass-rusher on the inside in passing situations, and Tony McDaniel is the most likely run stuffing nose tackle, but they could use depth and someone to compete with McDaniel as a run stopper.

Tackle - They are set at left tackle with Russell Okung, but need to add depth and could potentially upgrade from Breno Giacomini at right tackle.

Tight end - Zach Miller is a solid tight end, but teams need two tight ends in today's NFL and Seattle could stand to upgrade from Anthony McCoy, who is in the last year of his contract.
