2013 NFL Draft results: Mr. Irrelevant is Justice Cunningham

Mr. Irrelevant will have the tough task of making a Colts roster that features two young tight ends added in 2012.

The Mr. Irrelevant of the 2013 NFL Draft is South Carolina tight end Justice Cunningham, after the Indianapolis Colts selected him with the final pick of the seventh round at No. 254 overall. Cunningham will join Chandler Harnish on the Colts, who was selected as Mr. Irrelevant by the Colts in the 2012 NFL Draft.

As the last pick of the NFL Draft, Cunningham will now be celebrated at “Irrelevant Week” in Southern California. He’ll go to Disneyland and participate in various events, including the awarding of the Lowsman Trophy, a mock of the Heisman Trophy.

At 6’4, 264 pounds, Cunningham was more of a blocking tight end for the Gamecocks. He caught 23 passes for 324 yards as a senior and finished his collegiate career with just one receiving touchdown.

The Colts selected two tight ends early in the 2012 NFL Draft, as Dwayne Allen and Coby Fleener joined the team in the second day. The pair caught 71 passes for 802 yards with five touchdowns, so Cunningham will have his work cut out for him to make the roster behind them.
