Auburn redshirt sophomore offensive tackle Greg Robinson declared for the 2014 NFL Draft on Tuesday, via his Twitter account. Robinson received a favorable report from the NFL Draft Advisory Board recently, though he waited until after the Tigers' national title game against Florida State to make an official announcement.

Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn had this to say about Robinson in a statement released after the announcement:

“Greg played a big part in our success this season and I appreciate everything he did as an Auburn Tiger during his career. He has a bright future ahead of him at the next level and we wish him nothing but the best.”

Robinson emerged this season in a rejuvenated Auburn offense orchestrated by Malzahn. The Tigers established the nation’s top rushing attack, averaging more than 328 yards per game while picking up 6.3 yards per carry. He got 11 starts in 2012 and remained a regular for the Tigers in 2013.

Robinson’s efforts caught the attention of ESPN’s Mel Kiper in November; Kiper referred to him at the time as “one of the elite left tackles.” In his latest rankings, Kiper tabbed him as the ninth-best overall player available in the draft.
