2015 NFL mock draft: Kevin White to New York Jets at No. 6

Regardless of who is playing quarterback for the Jets, they’re going to need more targets - and Kevin White is arguably the best receiver available this year.

To say that the New York Jets have been busy this offseason would be a severe understatement. They completely made over their secondary by signing Darrelle Revis, Antonio Cromartie, Buster Skrine and Marcus Gilchrist in free agency, adding James Carpenter to the offensive line as well, and also swung trades for receiver Brandon Marshall and potential starting quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick.

How will that momentum carry over into the 2015 NFL Draft? John Butchko and David Wyatt of Gang Green Nation have some ideas, and it just so happens that they're in charge of making the Jets' picks in our 2015 NFL mock draft.

6. Jets: Kevin White, WR, West Virginia

Butchko and Wyatt: The best way to infuse life into the Jets’ passing game would be to upgrade at quarterback. The top two guys are off the board here, so we will upgrade the receiving corps to make life easier on either Geno Smith or Ryan Fitzpatrick.

Just two years ago, the three receivers who got the most snaps for the Jets were Stephen Hill, Jeremy Kerley and David Nelson. Now the Jets will trot out Brandon Marshall, Eric Decker and White in three receiver sets. Add in tight end Jace Amaro, and the Jets will have four quality options 6’3” or taller on any given play.

Amari Cooper is the more polished prospect, but White has as high of a ceiling as any receiver in this class.

Dan Kadar, SBNation.com: Although Decker was a disappointment in his first season in New York, he’s still a big contract. Marshall’s stats may have dipped last season, but he’s still a solid lead receiver. Neither may be the long-term solution, but would adding a third wide receiver make the Jets better? If the belief is yes, they may as well take White over Cooper and hope he becomes a special player. He has more potential to do that than Cooper. A more impactful player would be a pass rusher who can win with speed opposite Quinton Coples.
