Packers vs 49ers score update: San Francisco leads 24-21 at half, Colin Kaepernick with record numbers

Saturday is shaping up to be one of the best days in NFL postseason history and Kaepernick has already done something no quarterback has ever done before.

We have a new candidate for best game of the day.

After the Broncos and Ravens played to a thrilling double-overtime finish earlier on Saturday, the Packers and 49ers are putting forth their best efforts to top it. Colin Kaepernick opened the scoring by throwing a pick-6 to Sam Shields, but he followed that up with a 20-yard touchdown run on the next drive. Overall, Kaepernick has run for 107 yards in the game, an NFL postseason record for a quarterback. In the passing game, he is 11-of-23 for 148 yards, 2 touchdowns and 1 interception.

There’s still another half of football left.

It's been a less-than-exciting first half for Aaron Rodgers, who is 5-of-10 for 98 yards, 1 touchdown and 1 interception. Rodgers has gotten a lot of help from James Jones in the game, first with an amazing 44-yard catch on the sideline that setup a DuJuan Harris touchdown run, and then later with a 20-yard touchdown that tied the score at 21-21. There hasn't been much more than that for the Packers offense; Jordy Nelson is catchless, Greg Jennings has one catch for seven yards, Jermichael Finley has one catch for 19 yards, Randall Cobb also does not have a catch.

David Akers kicked a 36-yard field goal at the end of the half, giving San Francisco a 24-21 lead. You might want to stick around for this one.
