2013 AFC Championship: Patriots and Ravens to play for spot in Super Bowl XLVII

Tom Brady and the Patriots will host Ray Lewis and the Ravens for a spot in Super Bowl XLVII.

The AFC Championship will feature two of the NFL's best teams of the 2000's as the New England Patriots take on the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday for a spot in the Super Bowl. The second-seeded Patriots thrashed the Houston Texans in the divisional round, while the Ravens upended the No. 1 seed Denver Broncos, setting up a clash at Gillette Stadium for the conference crown.

While things were pretty easy for the Patriots against the Texans, the same could not be said for the Ravens. It took a 70-yard heave from Joe Flacco to Jacoby Jones and comical Broncos defending for Baltimore to score with 31 seconds left in regulation and force overtime. Then, it took two overtimes before the Ravens could finally set up Justin Tucker for a 47-yard field goal to send them to the AFC Championship Game.

Baltimore's heart-stopping win kept Ray Lewis' career alive, but the future Hall of Famer will not get a break. A week after facing Peyton Manning, Lewis and the Ravens' defense will have to stop Tom Brady and the devastating Patriots offense that is eying a second consecutive Super Bowl berth.

The AFC Championship Game will kick off at 6:30 p.m. ET. The winner will head to Super Bowl XLVII in New Orleans, where they will take on either the Atlanta Falcons or San Francisco 49ers.
