The Atlanta Falcons suffered a 28-13 loss to the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship on Sunday, but they may have been without their star quarterback if they had advanced to the Super Bowl. Matt Ryan reportedly separated his left shoulder after Ahmad Brooks fell on top of him in the fourth quarter.

Matt Ryan finished the NFC Championship with an injury to his non-throwing shoulder, while the 49ers came away unscathed for the most part. Here’s a look at the injury report from Sunday’s action.


Ryan was visibly in pain, but managed to play the final series of the game. The Falcons are still waiting to find out if he will need surgery going forward.
Michael Turner made an early exit against San Francisco after he injured his ankle in the third quarter. He did not return, and finished the afternoon with eight carries for 30 yards.
The 49ers appear to be healthy for the most part heading into the Super Bowl. Aldon Smith was limited in practice throughout the week leading up to the NFC Championship, but he managed to play the entire game. Frank Gore's knees also held up as he rushed for 90 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries.
