Super Bowl 2013 tickets: Average price drops again
With a little over a week left before Super Bowl XLVII, ticket prices dropped for a second day in a row. We take a look at some of the “best deals” out there.
According to TiqIQ, the average price for a ticket to the Super Bowl is a cool $3,582, which is $100 less than yesterday. It’s good to see that the it’s heading in that direction, but it’s still unrealistic for many football fans.
What should be considered unacceptable is that the lowest single ticket you can find is $1,930. This means it is impossible to enter the stadium for any less than $2k, and you’re probably going alone unless you can convince your friends or family to dip into their savings as well.
TiqIQ also shows that there are roughly 4,648 tickets still left available for purchase. The stadium capacity of the Mercedez-Benz Superdome in New Orleans is 76,468. So clearly, tickets have been selling despite the insane market price.
According to StubHub, the lowest available ticket will run you about $2,025. Whereas, if you’re a big spender, you can drop $323,538 to witness the Super Bowl in person. Frankly, I can imagine anyone spending a small fortune to witness anything four 3.5 hours. It’s almost a hundred thousand dollars an hour.
