Week 3 of the 2025 NFL season is upon us and the action will kick off on Thursday night with the Miami Dolphins visiting the Buffalo Bills at 8:15 p.m. ET on Prime Video.
Tua Tagovailoa start or sit: Week 3 fantasy football advice
We break down the fantasy football outlook of Tua Tagovailoa ahead of the Dolphins’ Week 3 matchup against the Bills.

The Dolphins are already on shaky footing at 0-2 to start the season and they fell short in a 33-27 home loss to the Patriots last Sunday. Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa had a better day than his dreadful performance in Week 1, but it wasn’t enough to lift the team to their first victory of the season.
Below, we’ll go over Tagovailoa’s outlook in fantasy football for Week 3.
Fantasy Football analysis: Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa
Tagovailoa went 26-32 for 315 yards with two touchdowns and one interception in last week’s loss to the Patriots, earning 19.6 fantasy points for managers in the process. As mentioned before, it was a step up from his poor season debut against the Colts the week prior, but he was still under duress for much of the game as he took five sacks.
Start or sit in Week 3?
Sit. Miami’s offensive line is already a major problem and that has been apparent with Tagovailoa taking eight sacks through two weeks. According to Pro Football Focus, his average time to throw ranks 32nd in the NFL through two weeks and he’s going up against a Bills defense that has the second-highest sack rate in the league at 11.32%. I’d normally advise against starting a QB in the Thursday night slot and that’s especially the case here. Stay far, far away from Tua because this could get ugly at Highmark Stadium.
